With Power, Comes Progress

  • India’s agri supply chain is plagued by a power problem. Many local food businesses do not have access to cost-efficient, uninterrupted power, which limits their growth, driving up costs and limiting output.
  • 500-backed SaaS-based food commerce platform company FarMart is stepping in with solar provider Aerem, India’s pioneering rooftop solar provider for MSMEs, to fix this with affordable clean energy.
  • By integrating clean, reliable and renewable energy into the core of India’s food processing ecosystem, the team is helping local food businesses scale sustainably and boost productivity, while creating more resilient livelihoods in rural India.
  • With over 3.8 million farmers, over 1,500 processors, and more than 4,000 food businesses already on FarMart’s network, embedding solar tech means a greener, more efficient food supply chain across India.
  • Co-founder & CEO Alekh Sanghera shared, “Reliable energy has become foundational infrastructure for the food economy. We’re excited to collaborate with Aerem to help our partners transition to clean energy and build a future-ready agri-supply chain.”
