500-backed superapp Grab launched their first AI Centre of Excellence (AI COE) to build AI-driven solutions that improve daily life across Southeast Asia — from improving accessibility to boosting productivity and growth, and contributing to smart nation building.
By 2025, the center will create at least 50 high-value roles across engineering, data science, and product development — offering Singaporeans the opportunity to build impactful, locally-driven AI solutions with the potential to scale across international markets.
Key areas of the center include:
- Accessibility: Making digital services more accessible for underserved communities, including the elderly, people with disabilities, and those less familiar with technology.
- Productivity and growth: Helping gig workers, entrepreneurs, and small business owners make smarter decisions, streamline their work, and boost their income through personalized, data-driven tools.
- Smarter nations: Transforming real-world data into actionable solutions that improve daily life and support government initiatives
