  • We believe Southeast Asia will see a new economic renaissance powered by unicorn founders like Lucas Ngoo, Co-founder of 500-backed recommerce company Carousell, who are back for their second act.
  • After Carousell, Lucas is diving into personalized healthcare with CareSense, an AI-powered behavioral health coaching platform aiming to personalize care and coaching at scale – starting with health screenings, to building sustainable habits and preventing chronic conditions before they start.
  • Mandy, the startup’s AI health coach and digital companion accessible via WhatsApp or a dedicated app, focuses on improving sleep, stress, diet, and exercise — what Lucas calls the ‘four pillars of lifestyle behavior’.
  • The app uses AI to drive real behavior change, allowing users to track fitness and diet through integrations with Apple Health/Google Fit, get nutritional analysis based on photos of their meals, log workouts, and more.
  • The startup is already gaining traction, with enterprise clients like consultancy company Surbana Jurong. The team also offers a consumer-facing subscription model and Mandy bundled with corporate health screening packages.
  • CareSense is currently raising their seed round. The funds will be used to grow their team, which blends AI engineers with health experts like health coaches and cardiologists, scale user acquisition, and expand regionally to markets like Malaysia and Hong Kong.
