  • Using the same proprietary precision fermentation technology that brought us bean-free coffee, they’re now thinking along the lines of chocolate without cacao, nut-free hazelnut, pod-free vanilla, and orange-free citrus.
  • The driving forces behind Prefer are Co-founders DJ Tan (CTO) and Jake Berber (CEO), who set out to tackle the climate crisis head-on with sustainable, cost-saving alternatives.
  • Amid soaring ingredient prices, they’re helping businesses stay competitive while having a positive environmental impact.
  • With a 6-figure revenue, the team is now focused on delivering impact at scale: “We’re not here to do something super niche. We want to deliver a solution that makes the most positive good as we can, and the only way to do that is to make this mainstream,” DJ shared.
