Drive for success
- 500-backed Carsome Academy and impact-driven foundation Yayasan Hasanah partnered to provide full scholarships for 25 students from low-income communities!
- Through Carsome Academy’s EmpowerYouth+ initiative, this gives underserved youth in rural Malaysia the opportunity to build careers in the automotive industry.
- Students will receive comprehensive hands-on training, with 70% of the program focused on practical learning to prepare them for future jobs.
- What’s more, each student will receive a one-time relocation allowance to attend Carsome Academy, along with a monthly stipend to cover living expenses, accommodation, and travel costs.
- Carsome Academy is also reducing the scholarship fee by over 30%, making the program more accessible.
- Beyond equipping students with essential skills, this initiative supports Malaysia’s goal of building a homegrown, skilled workforce and reducing reliance on foreign labor.
- Co-founder & CEO Jiun Ee Teoh shared, “Partnering with Yayasan Hasanah on this initiative is a crucial step towards our shared goal of uplifting underserved communities. By providing young people with both the technical skills and leadership qualities needed for success, we are not only opening doors for them in the automotive industry but also helping them build a brighter future for themselves and their families.”
- The program also includes on-the-job training with major automotive brands such as Carsome, Proton, and Chery, allowing students to gain real industry experience while they study.
- In addition to technical training, the initiative focuses on developing leadership skills and preparing students for long-term success in the automotive field.
