- 500-backed rocket company Gilmour Space got the green light to launch Australia’s first commercial orbital rocket!
- Co-founder & CEO Adam Gilmour shared that with this permit, they plan to launch the first orbital test flight of an Australian-made rocket from Australia by the end of 2024.
- In September, the team announced they successfully completed a major wet dress rehearsal of their Eris launch vehicle.
- The upcoming test flight will be the first of several planned test launches to reach orbit with Eris, which leverages new propulsion technologies developed by the team.
- The company’s Bowen Orbital Spaceport, one of only a few private orbital launch sites globally, will initially provide access to low- and mid-inclination orbits.
