  • 500-backed agritech startup Chickin raised a US$20M Series A+ from 500 Global, Granite Asia, Integra Partners, Asian Development Bank, East Ventures, Aksara Ventures, and several other investors.
  • Poultry farmers in Indonesia face major challenges such as price fluctuations and limited access to capital. Chickin is supporting them by offering financing for farming necessities such as feed, chicks, veterinary supplies, their Chickin Smartfarm solution which enables IoT-driven farm management, and Chickin Fresh, a distribution network to reach more customers.
  • To date, Chickin Smartfarm has been used by close to 10,000 farmers to manage over 10 million chickens, with more than 250 cages equipped with IoT technology to increase productivity.
  • Meanwhile, Chickin Fresh has distributed 7.9 million kilograms of chicken across Indonesia.
  • The team shared that the new capital will be used to expand their production capacity to meet rising market demand, further develop advanced IT and IoT solutions for greater operational efficiency, diversify their product portfolio, and explore new markets locally and globally.
