A rewarding year

Congratulations to 500-backed superapp Grab for being ranked second in Fortune’s 2024 Change the World list for their efforts in driving financial inclusion across Southeast Asia.
The team has been extending loans to gig workers – who often do not have – by leveraging data from their platform, such as driver earnings.
Grab also facilitates smaller, daily auto-deductions from earnings, ensuring that gig workers do not incur more debt than expected income, and eliminating the stress often associated with repayments.
The team has also helped micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) improve their cash flow and invest in their business growth.
Grab was also named Time’s World’s Best Companies of 2024.
The team also bagged the 2024 Red Dot Design Award in early 2024 for their in-house mapmaking camera, KartaCam 2, which was designed to improve navigation in challenging terrains across Southeast Asia such as narrow alleyways, indoor spaces and mountainous areas.
