  • Congratulations to 500-backed digital asset fund manager Halogen Capital for reaching RM100M (~US$22.5M) in assets under management (AUM) in just one year! Now, the team is aiming for RM1B (~US$225M) in the next two years.
  • “Looking ahead, our goal is to build on this momentum and be the global leader for shariah-compliant digital assets,” shared Co-founder & CEO Ooi Hann Liew.
  • One of their strategies is to expand overseas as shariah-compliant digital asset funds are not commonly found in other countries, and they can complement the portfolios of overseas investors, particularly for Muslims.
  • The company currently offers four shariah-compliant cryptocurrency funds: Halogen Shariah Bitcoin Fund, Halogen Shariah Ethereum Fund, Halogen Shariah Crypto Titans Fund and Halogen Shariah Ringgit Income Fund.
  • Ooi Hann added that they also plan to roll out structured products and prime brokerage services, sharing that they have more than 20 distribution partners, including notable ones such as AHAM Asset Management Bhd (AHAM Capital), Kenanga Investors Bhd, UOB Kay Hian, and Phillip Mutual Bhd.
  • He revealed that Halogen Capital is looking for investors who can add value beyond just money. “Someone who really understands the capital market or perhaps a global institutional investor in the crypto space,” he explained.
