  • Chope! That’s the latest acquisition by 500-backed superapp Grab, in a move to expand its restaurant booking services in Southeast Asia.
  • Chope, a Singapore-based dining reservation platform, has 13,000 eateries across the country and beyond on their platform. Grab is acquiring their Southeast Asia operations, which also covers Bali, Jakarta, Bangkok, and Phuket.
  • Grab has been offering restaurant reservations in Singapore after their acquisition of HungryGoWhere in 2022, and this new acquisition further expands their business.
  • The team shared that they aim to provide their F&B merchants-partners with more ways to capture online-to-offline opportunities.
  • “The vast majority of the merchants on our platform are small, medium-sized businesses who don’t have the same resources or know-how that big F&B brands have. Our focus is to help level the playing field for them through tools that empower them to grow and manage their businesses more efficiently,” the company added.
