Calling for solutions

  • 1.3 billion new smartphones are sold globally every year — an alarming number as electronics is the fastest-growing category of toxic e-waste, polluting our environment.
  • While users in the U.S. and Europe are adopting secondhand electronics, this trend is lagging in Southeast Asia.
  • To combat this environmental threat, 500-backed online shopping aggregator iPrice partnered 3cat, a provider of used electronics, to raise awareness on the environmental impact of electronic waste (e-waste) and promote sustainable consumption habits.
  • Together, they will encourage people to consider secondhand smartphones and other electronic devices.
  • CEO Heinrich Wendel shared, “At iPrice, we believe in the power of collaboration to drive positive change. Through this omni-channel partnership with 3cat, we hope to inspire more people to make environmentally conscious choices when it comes to purchasing electronic devices.”
