Sales that scale

  • Growing an e-commerce business? Check out what 500-backed e-commerce aggregator Una Brands has to say about turning online businesses into household names. Since their launch in 2021, the team has acquired over 20 businesses!
  • Country Head of Malaysia Carey Su shares 5 things e-commerce brands should focus on:
    • Gross profit. Ideally, a brand should have a gross profit of at least 50%, adding that for brands making less than that, “it’s very hard to spend on marketing and still make a profit after.”
    • Good unique selling propositions (USP). “Your product and your brand need a good reason to exist,” and brands with a particular niche or have the potential of being one of the top in the market have an advantage.
    • Potential to expand. Beyond one best-selling product, the potential to expand the line means the potential to grow further. This not only attracts new customers, but also caters to the needs of existing customers.
    • Multi-pronged marketing strategy. Keep the ideation of marketing strategies in-house, and create different personas to target customers at different stages of the marketing funnel.
    • Multiple sales channels. Build the capabilities to invest in more sales channels, which includes hiring and training more people to handle sales on a larger scale.
