Working smarter & faster with data

  • Having worked in manufacturing, Surbhi K Singh saw first-hand the difficulty that factories face in handling enormous volumes of data and how useful information was getting lost. “That’s how I saw the need for looking beyond existing automation,” she said.
  • This led to the founding of 500-backed FireVisor, a platform for cognitive automation. The goal? Bringing data science to the manufacturing floor and into the hands of engineers.
  • The startup provides a central platform that interconnects to individual machines in a factory for data collection, and through machine learning help process engineers  make better, data-driven decisions.
  • “To give you an example, one of our customers is now able to fix their machine issues every hour…This saves them 37% of their time, which they would otherwise spend on manually sieving through terabytes of data,” Surbhi shared.
