A class act
- A company started by a 15-year-old schoolboy has been acquired by Singapore-based e-commerce startup Una Brands for US$730,000.
- Bellaforte, an Australian drinkware company, sells what it claims are unbreakable and recyclable glasses. According to the company, it turned profitable in 2020. Founder Sam Richards will stay on as a consultant for two years.

Beefing up the industry
- The red meat industry is getting a leg up thanks to 500-backed supply chain startup Escavox. It has released an automated shelf-life calculator for red meat processors.
- Based on real-time supply chain data, it provides a tracking service that monitors temperature, humidity, location, and time.
- This data can be accessed on a smartphone or desktop through the Escavox platform. This helps processors improve the shelf life of their produce in real-time.

Flying high
- 500-backed drone startup Aerodyne Group has struck a strategic partnership with Voliro AG, a Swiss-based startup that specializes in developing advanced aerial robotics for inspection and maintenance of critical infrastructure.
- Under this agreement, Aerodyne will receive an early adopter version of the Voliro T robotic platform. This will allow the startup to offer more services to gain market entry.
- The Voliro T can be equipped with a variety of sensors and features a 360° flight design, enabling faster access to hard-to-reach areas with less risk.
- Group COO, Rossi Jaafar, said, “We have built a strong business in critical asset inspections and this partnership will give us an edge… In fact, a recent project for ultrasonic testing thickness measurements of above-ground tanks has shown a 20% savings in costs and reduction of time from 20 days to three.”
