Neuron is one of the few e-scooter companies chosen for this exercise.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<figure class=\"wp-caption\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-width=\"600\" data-height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/dailymarkup.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/img_60f7da1831374.jpg\"><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Credit: Neuron\u00a0Mobility<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<ul>\n<li>Neuron CEO Zachary Wang <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2020\/06\/30\/e-scooter-firms-get-the-green-light-to-start-trials-of-up-to-one-year-on-uk-streets\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">says<\/a>, \u201cWe are delighted that people in the U.K. will soon be able to benefit from shared e-scooters. They will allow people to continue social distancing while also providing a more efficient travel option\u2026\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Founded in Singapore in 2016 by Zachary Wang and Harry Yu, the company has operated e-scooter sharing services across Australia, Malaysia, Thailand, and New Zealand.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Protected on and off the bike<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>500-backed London-based insurtech startup <a href=\"https:\/\/laka.co\/gb\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Laka<\/a> has rolled out a new product designed to support policyholders not only on, but also off the bike. Backed by Swiss insurance giant <a href=\"https:\/\/www.insurancebusinessmag.com\/uk\/companies\/zurich\/29612\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Zurich<\/a>, the \u201cRecovery\u201d accident and injury policy covers activities such as skiing, surfing, and hiking, and provides post-incident psychological treatments.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<figure class=\"wp-caption\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-width=\"821\" data-height=\"513\" src=\"https:\/\/dailymarkup.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/img_60f7da1886626.jpg\"><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Credit: Laka<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<ul>\n<li>The policy, which costs around \u00a311 per month, offers as much as \u00a31,500 for any medical treatment\u200a\u2014\u200abe it physio, dental, or mental.<\/li>\n<li>It also features access to the best specialists as well as virtual GPs, and a curated list of partners whose services include coaching sessions, indoor bike training, and nutritional plans.<\/li>\n<li>Laka is unlike traditional insurance providers. It operates on a model relying on a community-based system where its customers work as a collective to share the cost of claims that actually happen, rather than ones that may happen.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Why esports is not overhyped<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lau Kin Wai, co-founder of 500-backed esports network <a href=\"https:\/\/espl.gg\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ESPL<\/a>, is bullish the esports industry will continue to flourish, despite talks it has become overhyped with the proliferation of big-money sponsorships and larger-than-life events.<\/li>\n<li>\u201cThis doesn\u2019t warrant any concerns to me, as e-sports sponsorship is still small compared to traditional sports. E-sports has already a bigger audience than traditional sports, it is only natural for the sponsorship money to shift from traditional sports to e-sports,\u201d Kin Wai says.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<figure class=\"wp-caption\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-width=\"780\" data-height=\"520\" src=\"https:\/\/dailymarkup.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/img_60f7da18de829.jpg\"><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Credit: ESPL<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<ul>\n<li>For Kin Wai and the ESPL team, they believe in nurturing amateur gamers by making competitive gaming accessible to them. This, in turn, will pave the future for the esports industry and create its own big stars.<\/li>\n<li>\u201cIn the future, I think we will have world-famous E-sports stars the likes of Formula One\u2019s Lewis Hamilton, for instance. The future is definitely bright for e-sports stars as we continue to grab headlines across the globe.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>ESPL is a mobile-focused global esports tournament network and online platform that creates rapidly deployable and scalable ecosystems for competitive amateur gaming leagues.
