ecosystem link businesses and consumers to offers in a Covid-19 world.<\/li>\n<li>Together with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.businesstimes.com.sg\/garage\/south-east-asian-vc-firms-rally-together-to-help-startups-weather-covid-19-storm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Business Times<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.techinasia.com\/vc-southeast-asia-programs-support-talent-startups\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tech In Asia<\/a> also ran a story on the initiative, quoting Vishal Harnal, Partner at 500 Startups, in the piece.<\/li>\n<li>As we\u2019ve last checked, there are 55 offers available on <a href=\"https:\/\/supportstartups.com\/offers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the site<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Pay cuts and incentives<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.grab.com\/sg\/press\/others\/grab-announces-additional-covid-19-support-measures\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a press release<\/a>, Grab announced that its senior leaders will be taking pay cuts of up to 20% to help the business and its partners cope with the negative impact of the Covid-19 outbreak.<\/li>\n<li>\u201cEven as our mettle is tested, let us continue to care for each other so we can all emerge from this stronger,\u201d said Group CEO and co-founder, Anthony Tan.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<figure class=\"wp-caption\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-width=\"1067\" data-height=\"600\" src=\"https:\/\/dailymarkup.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/img_60f7d984190f3.jpg\"><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Credit: Financial Times<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<ul>\n<li>The ride-hailing giant is also aiding SMEs in Malaysia, especially small establishments and hawker stalls.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.theedgemarkets.com\/article\/grab-lists-3-measures-support-local-businesses\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Measures<\/a> include a dedicated campaign to promote \u201clocal heroes\u201d and financial relief of up to RM3,000.<\/li>\n<li>To help merchants expand their reach, payments can also be made via WhatsApp and Facebook.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Red Heroes assemble<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In an effort to help medical frontliners cope with the pandemic spread, RedDoorz is <a href=\"https:\/\/kr-asia.com\/reddoorz-provides-free-rooms-for-frontline-healthcare-workers-during-the-covid-19-pandemic\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">working with Southeast Asian governments<\/a> to provide free temporary lodging across multiple locations for emergency personnel.<\/li>\n<li>It\u2019s all part of the hotel startup\u2019s Red Heroes project currently implemented in Singapore, the Philippines, and Indonesia.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<figure class=\"wp-caption\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-width=\"1024\" data-height=\"683\" will also supply packages of free masks, hand sanitizers, and other essentials to healthcare professionals during their stay.<\/li>\n<li>The company is also providing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.straitstimes.com\/singapore\/hotels-accommodate-malaysian-staff-in-guest-rooms-or-ask-them-to-go-on-leave\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">free lodging for Malaysian employees<\/a> in the city-state who can\u2019t return to their home country following the restricted movement order implemented by the Malaysian government.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>WFH<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Social distancing has everyone working from home, including VC firms, but seems productivity isn\u2019t slowing down VCs.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/venture-capital-open-business-dry-powder-b78e743b-f47d-42a2-ba17-15c245e13dd3.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Axios<\/a> ran a quorum of 40 VC firms in the U.S. and found all of them still actively investing.<\/li>\n<li>\u201cWhat else are we going to do all day stuck at home except look at deals?\u201d a firm
