In this <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2020\/03\/25\/coronavirus-asia-may-ride-out-crisis-better-than-us-europe-analysts-say.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CNBC repor<\/a>t, the SARS epidemic in 2003 hit Hong Kong, Singapore, and China hard, plunging them into deep recessions.<\/li>\n<li>It could be a lesson learned because it\u2019s got more companies with better cash positions:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" data-width=\"1340\" data-height=\"572\" src=\"https:\/\/dailymarkup.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/img_60f7d980d866b.png\"><\/figure>\n<ul>\n<li>And, they also have less debt:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" data-width=\"1310\" data-height=\"550\" src=\"https:\/\/dailymarkup.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/img_60f7d9813d99e.png\"><\/figure>\n<p>One can hope this bodes well for Asia!<\/p>\n<p><strong>A case of foreshadowing<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In November 2019, Netflix released \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/www.netflix.com\/title\/80216752\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Explained: The Next Pandemic<\/a>\u2019, a 20 minute-long episode featuring Bill Gates.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" data-width=\"640\" data-height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/dailymarkup.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/img_60f7d9818beb7.jpg\"><\/figure>\n<ul>\n<li>It spoke about how outbreaks work, and how ill-prepared humanity is to deal with a global outbreak.<\/li>\n<li>To think that only 5 months later, we are forced to deal with this question!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Unconventional advice on working remotely<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>On paper, working remotely seems pretty self-explanatory. But for companies not accustomed to this practice, it feels like uncharted waters.<\/li>\n<li>GitLab\u2019s Head of Remote recently shared <a href=\"https:\/\/500.co\/tools-and-tips-for-working-remotely\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">some helpful tips with us<\/a> on working remotely including how to go about onboarding new employees.<\/li>\n<li>There are plenty of tools to make the transition smoother too.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Knowledge is power<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We believe access to the right information is important at this time.
