Seppure was awarded a ~US$74,000 investment from Planet Rise and ~US$37,000 from Amasia.<\/li><li>The startup emerged as one of six finalists <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/feed\/update\/urn:li:activity:6826963073350430720\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">out of 400 companies<\/a>. The Liveability Challenge is a platform calling for viable solutions to the toughest challenges facing Southeast Asia\u2019s cities in the 21st century.<\/li><li>Earlier this year in May, Seppure was awarded <a href=\"https:\/\/eralberta.ca\/projects\/details\/sustainable-nanofiltration-technology-for-vegetable-oil-refining\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">~US$1.44 million funding by Emission Reduction Alberta<\/a> to implement its technology in Alberta-based vegetable oil processing facilities.<\/li><li>The project is expected to reduce 1,800 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent per year (tCO2e\/year) greenhouse gas emission, with up to 50,000 tCO2e\/year upon commercialization.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-images-1.medium.com\/max\/800\/0*rlw3R1fMnMcFq-Yh\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption>Credit: Carousell<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Moved by kindness<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>500-backed second-hand marketplace <a href=\"https:\/\/www.carousell.sg\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Carousell<\/a> was awarded <a href=\"https:\/\/www.marketing-interactive.com\/prawards-2021-highlight-behind-carousell-s-efforts-to-regain-brand-love-amidst-covid-19\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">silver for \u201cBest PR by an In-House Communications Team\u201d<\/a> at Marketing-Interactive\u2019s PR Awards 2021. Amit shared that hotel owners needed services like RedDoorz\u2019s even more. In addition to its track record of getting an occupancy rate of 10% more than the market, the startup also launched the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddoorz.com\/blog\/id\/info\/hygienepass-new-certification-program-from-reddoorz\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">HygienePass<\/a> certification program and helplines for hotel owners\u2019 staff.<\/li><li>On getting where the startup is currently, Amit offered two pieces of advice for new entrepreneurs. One is building a company culture from day one, which he said is \u201cvery difficult, if not impossible, to course-correct in the future\u201d.
