The company goes against conventional norms by using a community-approach to insurance.<\/li>\n<li>Based on the \u201ccollective\u201d, customers are charged a share of the cost of claims submitted in the previous month\u200a\u2014\u200aup to a capped fee. 80% of those premiums go towards paying for other customers\u2019 claims, and Laka said it then gets paid when the claim is settled.<\/li>\n<li>Laka has insured over 10,000 bicycles with an accumulated value of \u00a326 million. Having established a name in the UK, Laka is ready to enter Europe and expand into wider mobility categories.<\/li>\n<li>More on the crowdfunding campaign <a href=\"https:\/\/laka.co\/gb\/crowdfunding\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Doom to bloom<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The coronavirus crisis spelled doom for 500-backed <a href=\"https:\/\/bloomthis.co\/?utm_source=google&amp;utm_campaign=bt-brand-1kwd-exact&amp;utm_medium=cpc&amp;utm_content=bloomthis&amp;utm_term=55707637658&amp;gclid=CjwKCAiA-f78BRBbEiwATKRRBAVyY0L18w98ueqvkF-ZIHLA5MJ4jBJ2tKZGQwpjPc8vnkThRhda8xoCyhIQAvD_BwE\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">BloomThis<\/a>, the company synonymous with its range of curated flower bouquets.<\/li>\n<li>But they managed to increase their sales revenue by <a href=\"https:\/\/services.google.com\/fh\/files\/events\/final_economic_recovery_case_study-bloomthis.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">155%<\/a> from March to May this year, compared to the same period last year. Here\u2019s how they did it.<\/li>\n<li>The team expanded the business beyond flowers by offering toys, chocolates, balloons, and cakes, which are packaged in gifting bundles.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<figure class=\"wp-caption\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-width=\"700\" data-height=\"366\" src=\"https:\/\/dailymarkup.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/img_60f7d9d85a284.jpg\"><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Credit: Vulcan\u00a0Post<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<ul>\n<li>To bring attention to the new product range, BloomThis used Google Shopping Ads to drive awareness, displaying attention-grabbing visuals to appear first during search.<\/li>\n<li>BloomThis also took active steps to keep its customer base up to date via Google MY Business, a feature allowing businesses to better manage their online presence across Google platforms like Maps.<\/li>\n<li>\u201cOur ads on Google, specifically Shopping Ads quickly became the primary driver of our business, substantially contributing to our growth and doubling our online sales in this challenging time,\u201d said Giden Lim, CEO of BloomThis.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Australia\u2019s largest satellite<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>500-backed Australian rocket company <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gspacetech.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Gilmour Space<\/a> announced a partnership with Griffith University to launch the country\u2019s largest satellite into orbit by early 2023.<\/li>\n<li>The five-year agreement will see engineers and researchers from Gilmour Space and Griffith University developing a 100-kilogram prototype that will orbit 500 kilometres above Earth, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.abc.net.au\/news\/2020-10-30\/gilmour-space-technologies-and-griffith-to-build-new-satellite\/12826990\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ABC<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Besides, the satellites will be also equipped with applications for different needs, such as the observation of natural disasters and weather, mining, urban planning, thermal imaging, and communication.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<figure class=\"wp-caption\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-width=\"862\" data-height=\"575\" src=\"https:\/\/dailymarkup.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/img_60f7d9d89e889.jpg\"><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Credit: Gilmour\u00a0Space<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<ul>\n<li>CEO and founder Adam Gilmour said Australian-made satellites are \u201clacking\u201d due to its shoebox-size as compared to other commercial satellites that are about the size of a fridge.<\/li>\n<li>\u201cThat\u2019s really lacking\u200a\u2014\u200athat capability in Australia to make these bigger satellites that the rest of the world is using,\u201d he said.<\/li>\n<li>In 2016, Gilmour Space successfully launched a sub-orbital rocket. A full-orbital launch is scheduled for 2022.<\/li>\n<li>Most recently, it achieved a <a href=\"https:\/\/spacewatch.global\/2020\/07\/australian-rocket-company-gilmour-space-achieves-another-global-breakthrough\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">milestone<\/a> when a hybrid rocket engine test clocked at 110 seconds, surpassing the last test of 45 seconds.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr>\n<p><strong>Missed out the last Daily Markup?
