According to Goh, Grab has been \u201creally fortunate\u201d since it runs a diversified business.<\/li>\n<li>The startup\u2019s growth in food, grocery, and parcel delivery services has helped its business.<\/li>\n<li>When the pandemic first hit, Goh shared they responded by moving hundreds and thousands of its drivers into delivery services in order to preserve their livelihoods.<\/li>\n<li>Meanwhile, Grab saw businesses suffering with the drop in foot traffic to physical stores, especially those that hadn\u2019t yet gone digital.<\/li>\n<li>This led to a \u201chuge interest\u201d among brands in Grab\u2019s merchant and advertising services, to increase brand visibility online. With the consumer data at hand, the startup has been able to work with brands to optimise their campaigns with data points such as the best operating hours and current consumer trends.<\/li>\n<li>Goh added they have been running \u201call kinds of campaigns\u201d, with one of the recent ones being <a href=\"https:\/\/www.marketing-interactive.com\/grab-launches-new-programme-for-small-businesses-to-grow-online-in-the-new-normal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u201cHomegrown Heroes\u201d<\/a> through which they promoted 6,000 small businesses via personalized ads provided free of charge.<\/li>\n<li>This is part of Grab\u2019s pivot to focusing on partners rather than their own products and services.<\/li>\n<li>Listen to the full interview <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbcglobalnews.com\/advertising\/talking-media-business\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>10 apps to rule them all<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201cThe long and arduous property transaction process\u201d\u200a\u2014\u200athis was the phrase used to describe the Malaysian real estate industry in a <a href=\"https:\/\/vulcanpost.com\/723097\/mhub-malaysia-proptech-apps-home-buying-loan-application\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">recent Vulcan Post feature<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>3 people got together, with a simple idea to solve the problem. The result: a proptech platform called <a href=\"https:\/\/mhub.my\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MHub<\/a>, which has helped cut down the typically 9-month process into one.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<figure class=\"wp-caption\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-width=\"1024\" data-height=\"536\" src=\"https:\/\/dailymarkup.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/img_60f7d9b64e93d.png\"><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Credit: MHub<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201cWhile real estate is the world\u2019s largest asset class, it\u2019s also one of the slowest to adopt technology,\u201d explained co-founder Jason Ding. \u201cIt\u2019s because there are many different parties involved in a highly multi-regulated industry. There have been many initiatives but usually it\u2019s been focused on just one aspect of the journey, when a holistic approach is required.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>To create that holistic approach, 500-backed MHub built a suite of 10 apps to serve and connect key players within the industry including real estate agents, property developers, bankers, and lawyers.<\/li>\n<li>One of the values the startup brings is to act as a \u201cneutral party\u201d, allowing ease of adoption across the value chain. Everyone involved can then focus on their own roles.<\/li>\n<li>How has the startup been faring? MHub boasts over 80 developers, close to 90 law firms, 2,000 bankers, 4,000 real estate agents, and 10,000 users using the platform.<\/li>\n<li>The startup\u2019s sales in the first half of 2020 has been up by 3.5X compared to the same period last year.<\/li>\n<li>Ding revealed MHub has \u201cclose to 700 projects with a total of 170k units\u201d, adding they\u2019ve \u201ccaptured bookings for 64k units with a total Sales and Purchase Agreement (SPA) value of RM93 billion.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>In the next 5 years, the startup wants to be the defacto for all property sales transactions in Southeast Asia. Sensorem serves clients in multiple sectors in Australia, with a specific focus on the mining and agriculture sectors.<\/li>\n<li>With this investment, Sensorem will be able to offer Aerodyne Group\u2019s solutions across Australia.<\/li>\n<li>In the announcement, it was also revealed that Sensorem\u2019s existing management team, led by managing director, Ed Boxall, will continue to lead the company and remain as shareholders.<\/li>\n<li>\u201cThe next phase of Sensorem\u2019s journey will no doubt benefit from this partnership with the global leader in the field of drone based enterprise solutions,\u201d Boxall shared. \u201cThis will allow us to leverage Aerodyne\u2019s global footprint and economies of scale, ensuring that Sensorem continues to offer an innovative and differentiated value proposition for our clients.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Representing Aerodyne Group, COO Rossi Jaafar said, \u201cAerodyne Group is excited to join forces with Sensorem, which has a strong foundation in key pillars of the Australian economy\u2026we look forward to working with Ed and his team to super-charge the next stage of growth.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>This news comes after Aerodyne Group\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.digitalnewsasia.com\/business\/aerodyne-group-invests-top-australian-drone-inspection-company-sensorem\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">moves to expand<\/a> to the Middle East and Asia markets.<\/li>\n<li>Get more details on the announcement <a href=\"https:\/\/www.digitalnewsasia.com\/business\/aerodyne-group-invests-top-australian-drone-inspection-company-sensorem\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr>\n<p><strong>Missed out the last Daily Markup?
