Initially introduced in 2017, it is designed to support its driver- and delivery-partners in multiple aspects.<\/li>\n<li>To address a wider variety of needs and concerns, the program has been updated to include:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol>\n<li>Financial literacy classes by Standard Chartered through the Grab Partners app or online<\/li>\n<li>Driver PayLater, a financial assistance program for partners\u2019 monthly bills and necessities<\/li>\n<li>GrabFinance articles and tips to educate partners on financial management<\/li>\n<li>Insurance products protecting both drivers and passengers on every job<\/li>\n<li>Easier savings or contribution plans for SOCSO (Malaysia\u2019s social security protection for workers) and Zakat (a form of alms-giving treated in Islam as a religious obligation or tax)<\/li>\n<li>Rebates for fuel and vehicle maintenance via a panel of partners nationwide<\/li>\n<li>Grab Pit Stops for partners to rest<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>The second program, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.grab.com\/sg\/press\/others\/grab-and-nas-academy-team-up-to-empower-southeast-asias-content-creators-to-create-impact\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">GrabForGood x NAS Academy Creator Course<\/a>, was set up to identify and groom 100 budding content creators across Singapore, Malaysia, and the Philippines.<\/li>\n<li>In November, Managing Partner at 500 Startups Khailee Ng <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=iKy3RxBekLA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">spoke<\/a> to Nuseir Yassin, the man behind Nas Daily and Nas Academy, about his online school.<\/li>\n<li>Open to micro and small business owners including Grab driver and delivery-partners, the course aims to uncover stories on how they have adapted and persevered during this challenging period.<\/li>\n<li>The course will teach skills in scriptwriting, video filming, editing, and publishing. Participants will get personal feedback from trainers and access to a virtual digital lab through which they can get live feedback and tech support.<\/li>\n<li>At the end of the four-week course, participants will have produced 200 videos and selected ones will be uploaded on Grab\u2019s and NAS Daily\u2019s social platforms with some eight million followers.<\/li>\n<li>Graduates of the course will be inducted into the GrabForGood Fellows alumni, they will continue to receive mentorship and video creation opportunities, with access to resources and perks for a 6-month period.<\/li>\n<li>For more information, click <a href=\"http:\/\/nas.academy\/grabforgood\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Putting secondhand cars first<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>500-backed used car trading platform <a href=\"https:\/\/www.carsome.my\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Carsome<\/a> revealed it is planning an initial public offering in the US by 2023.<\/li>\n<li>In an <a href=\"https:\/\/kr-asia.com\/more-customers-will-choose-used-cars-over-new-vehicles-in-2021-qa-with-carsome-cfo-juliet-zhu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">interview<\/a>, chief financial officer (CFO) Juliet Zhu shared the startup is looking to the US because its stock market has shown appreciation and support for innovation in the used car industry. She revealed they are also hoping to see more support from other stock markets.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<figure class=\"wp-caption\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-width=\"1600\" data-height=\"1066\" src=\"https:\/\/dailymarkup.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/07\/img_60f7db569c11f.jpg\"><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Credit: KrAsia<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<ul>\n<li>Next year, the startup will focus on its core markets of Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand, with the latter two recording quick growth. By 2021, the two markets\u2019 contribution is expected to increase significantly.<\/li>\n<li>According to Juliet, the startup\u2019s priority is to roll out its B2C platform regionally.<\/li>\n<li>On its outlook for the used car industry in 2021, Juliet said, \u201cWe expect a sales upturn in 2021\u2026Despite the ongoing economic uncertainty brought by the pandemic, the Southeast Asian automotive industry, particularly the used car segment, will remain strong in 2021, with more consumers opting for private vehicle ownership to maintain physical distancing with strangers as opposed to taking public transport or ride-sharing. However, lockdown measures and the shift to work from home (WFH) necessitated a change.<\/li>\n<li>Ana Purcell, recruiting coordinator for LATAM &amp; the Caribbean at Alorica, shared that Talkpush\u2019s live call feature made the transition easier: \u201cWe were able to call candidates from the computer, recruiters were able to call candidates even if they didn\u2019t immediately have a landline.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>To free up their recruiters\u2019 time, Alorica let the Talkpush\u2019s bots take care of the pre-screening steps so they could focus on candidates that met the prerequisites.<\/li>\n<li>Ana added Talkpush also helped to keep them connected to candidates no matter where they are in the recruitment process.
